Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Freelance OS collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: July 5, 2026

Data we collect

We collect information needed to operate your account, deliver AI-assisted features, process billing, improve the product, and provide support. The categories below describe the main types of data we handle.

Account data

This includes information you provide when registering or signing in, such as:

  • Name and email address
  • Authentication credentials or OAuth identifiers (e.g., Google sign-in)
  • Account preferences and role assignments
  • Support messages and communications with us

Profile and portfolio data

Profile fields, skills, work history, portfolio items, service descriptions, and related content you enter to personalize AI outputs and power Freelance OS modules.

Proposal, job, and client data

Job descriptions, proposal drafts, opportunity analyses, client notes, and workflow data you create or import while using the platform. You control what you submit — avoid sharing confidential information you are not authorized to disclose.

Usage and telemetry data

We collect technical and usage information such as:

  • Feature usage, page views, and interaction events
  • Device, browser, and approximate location (from IP address)
  • Error logs and performance metrics
  • Rate-limiting signals for free tools (may include hashed IP data)

Payment data handled by payment providers

Payment card details and billing identifiers are processed by third-party payment providers (such as Paystack, PayPal, Creem, Polar, or Cryptomus when enabled). We receive transaction status, plan identifiers, and limited billing metadata — not full card numbers.

AI provider processing

AI inputs may be processed by configured AI providers to generate outputs. Do not submit sensitive personal data unless necessary.

Relevant inputs (such as job descriptions, profile excerpts, or draft content) may be sent to configured AI providers — including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or xAI when enabled — to generate outputs. Provider processing is subject to their policies. See Subprocessors for more detail.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and analytics. Details are in our Cookie Policy.

Analytics

We may use analytics tools to understand product usage and improve the experience. Analytics data is generally aggregated or pseudonymized where possible. Specific providers depend on what is configured for your deployment.

Data retention

We retain account and workflow data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain backups. Usage logs may be retained for shorter periods unless needed for security or debugging.

Data deletion

You may request account deletion or data removal by contacting support. Some information may be retained where required by law, for billing records, or to prevent abuse. Deletion requests are handled within a reasonable timeframe.

Third-party processors

We use subprocessors for hosting, payments, email, AI, and infrastructure. A non-exhaustive list is on our Subprocessors page. Actual subprocessors may depend on enabled integrations.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access or receive a copy of your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of certain data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based

To exercise these rights, contact us at legal@getfreelanceos.com. We do not sell your personal information.
